Women in Art Exhibit 2024 – Women in Visual Art (WIVA)

WIVA presented “Women in Art 2024”, a special two month-long art exhibition celebrating Women’s History from February 3rd – March 22nd at the The Hive Gallery in the Hill Country Galleria. This creative exhibit showcasing a diverse array of paintings, drawings, sculptures, mixed media, and fiber arts by 68 local women artists was inspired by women’s history, health, beauty, motherhood and equality. There was an Opening Party on February 3rd from 2-4pm and an Artist Reception on March 2nd from 2-4pm. Artist demonstrations included Gelli prints, Zentangle drawings and watercolors on February 3rd. On March 2nd, the Wildflowers singers performed and there were more art demonstrations and a hands-on art factory!

Women’s History Month Events included:

February 3rd – Opening Party from 2-4pm with various artist demonstrations
March 2nd – Artist Reception from 2-4pm with “Wildflowers” singers, artist demonstrations and a hands-on art activity
March 8th – Happy International Women’s Day!

The exhibit was held at The Hive Gallery located at 12700 Hill Country Blvd Suite T125, Austin, TX 78738 (map) across from Barnes & Noble in the Hill Country Galleria. The gallery hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 1-5pm.

The companion exhibit “Women in Photography” was held from March 1st to 30th at the Lake Travis Community Library with a special Photographer Reception on March 9th.
